The Hurtt Fathers Advocate Corporation
The Hurtt Fathers Advocate Corporation was born from pain that became purpose.
Founded by Jerron Hurtt Sr., HFAC was created after he experienced firsthand how difficult it can be for fathers and families to find meaningful support during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Instead of allowing that pain to define his future, he turned it into a commitment to help others find the resources, preparation, and opportunities they need to move forward.
HFAC is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families, supporting fathers, empowering youth, and expanding access to opportunity. We serve individuals who are often capable, motivated, and ready for more, but may be missing the support, preparation, or connection needed to reach the next level.
Our work includes workforce readiness, mentorship, mental health support, leadership development, digital media education, family engagement, and community-based services. HFAC is also developing the SFAC Adult Pre-Apprenticeship Readiness Program, a 16-week workforce bridge designed to prepare participants for employment, apprenticeships, aptitude testing, workplace expectations, and long-term career success. The University of Baltimore School of Law, through the Sayra and Neil Meyerhoff Center for Families, Children and the Courts, provides curriculum and partnership support for SFAC.
Through these programs and partnerships, HFAC helps individuals build confidence, overcome barriers, strengthen their families, and create more stable and successful futures.
We believe people should not be defined by the hardest chapter of their lives. With the right support, preparation, and opportunity, pain can become purpose, setbacks can become direction, and individuals can become a source of strength for their families and communities.
HFAC is more than a nonprofit. It is a platform for outcomes, built to connect people with the tools, relationships, and opportunities that can help change the course of their lives.

Our mission is to help individuals and families build stable, healthy, and successful futures while fostering stronger communities across Maryland.
Turning Pain Into Purpose
The Hurtt Fathers Advocate Corporation (HFAC) is more than a nonprofit. It is a grassroots movement born from one father’s belief that every child deserves opportunity, every family deserves support, and every community deserves hope.
What began as my personal journey has grown into a mission to strengthen families, empower fathers, invest in youth, and create lasting opportunities for future generations. My pain became my passion, and that passion became HFAC.
We believe lasting change happens when families are supported, young people are empowered, and communities work together. That belief guides every program, every partnership, and every life we serve.
Today, HFAC works alongside schools, universities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders to expand access to workforce development, mentorship, parenting education, leadership training, digital media education, mental health resources, and community-based services that strengthen working families, underserved communities, fathers, youth, and young adults.
Our goal is not simply to provide services. Our goal is to create opportunities that produce measurable, long-term change. We believe that when individuals have the right support, they become stronger parents, stronger leaders, stronger employees, and stronger members of their communities.
As a grassroots organization, every dollar invested directly supports programs that create real impact. Every donation, grant, sponsorship, volunteer, and partnership helps us reach more families, expand innovative programs, remove barriers to success, and build healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.
